Theatre of illusions

"Sorry, dear child, but I don't feel pain and I'm pretty sure that there is no blood in my veins. So stop it and look. I can show you whatever you want!"

This is a pic for contest "Unlikely friends" ([link]) held by . The task was to depict one of her OCs with one of my own.

I choose her Inaiyah Zavirone, always-12-year-old vampire (shadow being in the body of vampire, indeed). Information about her - here: [link]
And from my chars I choose one I never drew before (exept of some unfinished sketches)....
So, Morok (it's not a name, really, but the nickname. It can't be translated properly, because this is ancient slavic word. It's meaning is "illusion"). Tall and lean, looking ungainly with his long hands and legs. He is a leech. May be, not normal leech: yes, he is a necromancer who live after death, but he is very good in illusions, better, than in necromancy. His not-very-dead look is partly illusion (but on this picture he has his real appearance, with pale skin, scars etc). Optimistic, curious, a bit crazy... surely, he can be serious, but he don't want to be. And he don't want to have any connection with death and darkness, that people usually associate with leeches (and don't ask me, why his best friend is young necromancer: Morok is quite crazy, really!). He doesn't like being dead and doesn't finish that all only because not being frightens him more.
One of his abilities is traveling through the mirrors, - in his world, but some experiments... and who knows, where could he go and whom could he met? For example, one shadow girl.
She is close to the things he hates. But also she is a child, she is very unusual - and he is curious. Curious enough to look at her a bit closer and then try to tame her. And she can't hurt him no matter how hard she tries So, may be... there could be something like friendship, as two strange creatures understand it.

I'm not really happy with background... in fact, I'm totally not, but I doubt that I could make it any better.
And my scanner kills all green tones - not sure, only on my monitor or on all
